AKK gGmbH, Subsidiary of the Universitätsklinikum (University Clinic) Hamburg-Eppendorf, Acquires the Altonaer Kinderkrankenhaus (Altona Children’s Hospital). The Acquisition has been Approved by the German Federal Cartel Office on a Conditional Basis

The German Federal Cartel Office has approved the acquisition on condition that the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg sells its 50% interest in the Allgemeines Krankenhaus Bethesda (General Hospital Bethesda), Hamburg-Bergedorf. The decision by the German Cartel Office consolidates its method of defining the relevant market for hospital services and bases its definition on the general hospital market without making any differentiation according to specialist departments and care levels. With this definition of the market by the German Federal Cartel Office, the concentration was approved, subject to the said condition.
