BKN biostrom AG Placing First Bond at "SME Stock Exchange Germany" with Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek
BKN biostrom AG biostrom AG, specialized in the high-growth market of renewable energy sources, strives to be the first company on the "SME Stock Exchange Germany" of Hamburg and Hanover. Dr. Thorsten Kuthe and Madeleine Zipperle of Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek, jointly with their team, provided counsel in capital market law on the placement of the bond valued at EUR 25 million.
BKN biostrom AG specializes in the project planning and operational management of biogas plants based on renewable raw materials. Together with its operative subsidiaries, the company develops and implements biogas projects throughout Germany, covering the entire value creation chain from site selection to financial management and long-term operational management.
The funds from the bond will serve to develop a portfolio of biogas plants. Due to its high energy content, biogas can be used as a medium for heat and electricity generation and thus plays a large role in the future-oriented market in renewable energy sources.
"A particular challenge of this bond was to structure the collaterals, so that an attractive offer is put together for investors and at the same time BKN biostrom AG can continue to develop its business model in an optimum manner," explained Dr. Thorsten Kuthe. At this task, he and his experienced team were able to draw on the experience of several other assisted SME issues. BKN biostrom AG's bond is already the fourth placement of an SME bond for which the Cologne-based capital market law team of Dr. Kuthe has provided counsel this year.
