This conference will be hosted by Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek and the Global Advertising Lawyers Alliance (GALA) in co-operation with the German Advertising Standards Council and with the kind support of The Hamburg Chamber of Commerce. GALA is a unique association of leading advertising law experts from around the world.
The conference will open with a Key Note Address from Katja Heintschel von Heinegg M.E.S, the Head of European Affairs, of the German Advertising Standards Counsel and the German Advertising Federation (ZAW), providing insights into the latest cases and developments on social responsibility in advertising from the German perspective.
This will be followed by a panel discussion from GALA lawyers, who will provide recent examples of regulatory or legal action from around the EMEA region. We will have an open discussion on the contrasting procedures and varying sensitivities on issues such as the objectification of women, body shaming, racial and sexual stereotyping, the sexualisation of children and young people, and the portrayal of minority groups in advertising, as well the issues of harmful and offensive advertising.
We will wrap up with drinks and the opportunity to network with other delegates, together with GALA members from more than 20 countries in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
