Advising Ammerland district on cooperation agreement with EWE TEL GmbH

On October 31, 2016, the district of Ammerland and EWE TEL GmbH signed a cooperation agreement on joint broadband expansion in the district’s northeast that is still underserved. By the end of summer 2017, 31 project areas selected by the district with some 1,150 addresses will successively be closed. In total, about 2,200 households and some 300 companies, even outside the NGA broadband project areas, will be benefitting from the broadband expansion. They will then enjoy access to fast Internet with bandwidths between 30 and 100 Mbit/s.

The team led by Dr. Stephan Witteler (Partner; Frankfurt) advised the district of Ammerland extensively, including on drafting and performing the invitation to bid for the cooperation contract.

Ammerland is a district in the northwest of Lower Saxony. It covers an area of some 730 km² with a population of about 120,000 and consists of six municipalities.
