Advising Powerbox on acquisition of Eplax and its sister company PowerSelect
Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek legally advised Swedish-based Powerbox International AB and its German subsidiary Powerbox Deutschland GmbH comprehensively on the acquisition of German power supply manufacturer Eplax GmbH and its sister company PowerSelect GmbH, both headquartered in Bremen. The acquisition strengthens Powerbox’s capabilities in its major markets, the industrial, medical, railway/transportation, and military technology sectors.
Powerbox and Explax had already partnered on projects prior to the acquisition, in order to realize high-quality power supplies for demanding industrial applications. With more than 80 years of combined expertise, the companies delivered more than 3,500 customized power solutions worldwide.
Powerbox was established in 1974, is headquartered in Sweden and has local operations in 15 countries on four continents. The company is one of Europe’s largest power supply manufacturers and develops and sells premium-quality power supply systems for the industrial, medical, railway/transportation, and military technology sectors.
Powerbox is a portfolio company of Alder Fund I AB, an investment company that primarily invests in companies in the environmental technology sector and has already been advised by Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek on the acquisition of a majority stake in Rail & Road Protec GmbH with headquarters in Flensburg.
Bremen-headquartered Eplax has emerged from VERO Electronics GmbH, founded in 1964. The manufacturer develops, manufactures, and markets power supplies for almost all industries and applications. In the market, Eplax is known for high quality and its sturdy products.
