ASEAG - Converting a hybrid bus into an electric bus

As part of the "CIVI-TAS DYN@MO" EU project, Aachener Straßenbahn und Energieversorgungs-AG (ASEAG) is converting a hybrid joint bus of German manufacturer EvoBus (Mercedes Benz) into an electric bus. The vehicle is to be used in regular transport service at a later stage.

The CIVITAS EU project promotes environmentally friendly mobility by clean vehicles and by the use of intelligent technology. ASEAG as community enterprise intends to test and promote drive forms of the future for public local passenger transport. In this endeavor, ASEAG is supported by Aachen-based Futavis GmbH, which specializes in the development and production of electronic systems for the promotion of renewable energies.

Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek accompanied ASEAG and advised it on matters of public procurement law in the search for suitable and specialized enterprises for the implementation of the conversion concept.
