State capital of Erfurt: Operation of the multifunctional arena

Steigerwald stadium in Erfurt is to be converted to a multifunctional arena in the coming years. The modernization is essentially financed by subsidies of the Free State of Thuringia to improve regional infrastructure. After completion, the multifunctional arena is to be placed into a holding company yet to be established. The holding company intends to take over operation of the multifunctional arena jointly with a private partner in an operating company. The state capital of Erfurt will carry out a European-wide competition procedure in order to select this private partner.
