In 1999, the city of Essen decided to renovate its listed concert hall and integrate it with a Philharmonic Hall. The result is a cultural building that has been widely praised by the press with multifunctional halls and world-class acoustics. The Philharmonic Hall was opened in June 2004.
Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek developed a new award of contract and financial model for the City, drew up and supported the pan-European call-for-tenders and the contractual negotiations and also assumed responsibility for the legal side of project management.
