Strengthening the IP IT MEDIA practice at Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek

Düsseldorf, 19 November 2005. Anton Horn (35) joins Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek in Düsseldorf as a salaried partner to strengthen the Practice Group IP IT MEDIA, which as a result increases to a staff of 22 persons nationally. Mr. Horn has made a name for himself as a patent lawyer for Asian clients (e.g., Leadtek of Taiwan and Fujipla, Japan) and in patent violation proceedings in the Düsseldorf court. Mr. Horn, whose clients also include Bakker Magnetics B.V. of Eindhoven, Soler & Palau S.A. of Barcelona and Plastimark S.p.A. of Turin, speaks English, Spanish and Italian fluently. "Mr. Horn is a perfect complement to our practice group," said a delighted Michael Schmittmann about the young partner. "Many of our regular clients need consultation in patent law and want us to provide it. Now we have added added expertise in this field." Mr. Horn, whose career began in 1999 at Menold Herrlinger, worked for five years in the law firm PPR & PARTNER in Düsseldorf.

This partner also has significant experience in cartel law. "This specialization originated with international clients who wanted to enforce protected technical rights and use license agreements for economic purposes, but who were also interested in developing new markets and expanding in Germany," explained Anton Horn. "We will continue to expand patent law at Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek. Düsseldorf is the location of Germany's most important patent violation court and its significance continues to increase. By combining my expertise with that of my new colleagues in neighboring fields, the interests of our clients are comprehensively represented. Many Düsseldorf full service law firms are trying to offer patent law consultation for a good reason - they do not simply want to leave this field to the patent law specialist offices," said Mr. Horn in commenting on his change.
