Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek Starts Part-Time Model for Lawyers

Law firm Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek starts a part-time work offer for lawyers in order to continue to satisfy the increasing requirements to a modern workplace.

The part-time offer aims to provide a flexible model to lawyers who for a certain period want to reduce their working hours without having to forgo the collaboration on interesting client projects in a large commercial law firm. The part-time model offers young lawyers the opportunity of flexible hours while continuing to provide excellent client counsel.

"The career expectations of younger colleagues have changed in the last few years. Oftentimes, they set other priorities and attach greater importance to balancing professional and private life," explained Ulrike Gantenberg, Managing Partner at Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek.

The new model calls for individual agreements on part-time work, based on requirements, demand and field of law. In flexible manner, the part-time agreements may be in force for a certain period, facilitating a future return to full-time work and creating the opportunity to pursue the career path up to partnership. The flexible working hours in this model are supported by the offer of home office workspaces.

A testing phase with the installation of about twenty home office workspaces has already commenced. In three offices, initial part-time agreements have successfully been implemented as pilot projects.
