Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek adds restructuring expert to Berlin office

Dr. Stefan Proske with his team will join Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek's Berlin office as equity partner on February 13. Proske joins the law firm from Wellensiek Rechtsanwälte Partnerschaftsgesellschaft, where he heads the Berlin office.

His main focus is on the advice to and representation of stakeholders, in particular (financial) creditors in restructuring and in bankruptcy. He enjoys many years of experience in the field of insolvency administration gained at Johlke, Niethammer und Partner and KÜBLER as well as more than six years of consulting experience. His clients include regional and national credit institutions, which he advises in particular in the defense of rescission and other liability claims and the handling of large and very large real estate investments.

At Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek, Proske with his emphasis on bankruptcy law will join the "Practice Group Restructuring" led by restructuring partner Prof. Dr. Georg Streit that has acquired considerable reputation particularly on the assistance to medium-sized companies and their stakeholders in restructuring phases. "We are pleased that we were able to have Mr. Proske, an acknowledged expert in this field, join our firm. As part of our Practice Group, he will expand above all the areas of creditor advice and representation and will thus further strengthen the practice," commented Streit on the admission of the partner. In addition, Stefan Proske will also assist the areas of banking law, finance and real estate law with his additional expertise in banking, corporate and real estate law and litigation.

Proske himself commented on his move as follows: "The main reason for joining Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek is the much broader presence and the higher impact of the firm that will allow me to advise my clients in complex matters well beyond the actual bankruptcy and restructuring issues."
