Ulrike Gantenberg new Board Member of Deutsche Institution für Schiedsgerichtsbarkeit e.V.

Ulrike Gantenberg, Managing Partner of law firm Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek, was recently unanimously appointed to the Board of Directors of Deutsche Institution für Schiedsgerichtsbarkeit e.V. (DIS). Gantenberg is thus to resign as coordinator of the German Initiative of Young Arbitrators (DIS 40). In addition, Dr. Wolfgang Kühn, co-founder of the firm and member of the DIS Founding Committee, was appointed Honorary Member of the DIS Board.

Gantenberg had initially worked as coordinator for the Rhine-Ruhr area within DIS 40. Since 2007 she was one of four coordinators nationwide. By initiating and establishing numerous events, particularly the Pre-Moots in Düsseldorf, she assisted in increasing the visibility of the topic of arbitration. In March of this year, the meanwhile fifth Pre-Moot event was held in Düsseldorf in collaboration with the Circle of Friends of the Faculty of Law and the Düsseldorf Moot Association, comprising 22 teams and around 150 participants from all over the world.

Deutsche Institution für Schiedsgerichtsbarkeit e.V. (DIS) is a registered association to promote German and international arbitration. DIS offers an administered arbitration proceeding in accordance with the DIS Arbitration Rules and additional proceedings of alternative dispute resolution (ADR). It regularly holds conferences and seminars to educate and train lawyers and other interested parties. It also issues several publications on German and international arbitration. "I am very glad to have been appointed to the DIS Board as representative of the younger generation. It is my objective to represent and further promote Germany as arbitration location on a national and international level," said Ulrike Gantenberg.
