Baden-Württemberg counts on VRR vehicle financing model co-developed by Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek

In the coming years, Baden-Württemberg will provide financial support to railroad companies for procuring vehicles in order to strengthen competition. This was announced by the state government in a press release on March 05, 2013.

As various other German states have been doing for years now, it thereby relies on innovative vehicle financing models based on the VRR vehicle financing model developed jointly by Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek with Rhein-Ruhr transport association.

VRR vehicle financing model also in demand by other German states

It is the objective of the state of Baden-Württemberg to open competition also for smaller transport companies without their own vehicle fleet and to make available the favorable local authority loan terms to these competitors as well. This is to occur by the state of Baden-Württemberg securing the necessary loans by guarantees in the state budget.

"Regional rail passenger transport is trending towards innovative vehicle financing models. We are very pleased that there is interest in the VRR vehicle financing model beyond the borders of North-Rhine Westphalia," said Dr. Ute Jasper, Partner at the law firm and co-developer of the model.
