Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek advises POLYTECH OPHTHALMOLOGIE on merger with Domilens

With a team led by Dr. Pär Johansson, Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek advised POLYTECH group on the merger with Hamburg-based Domilens GmbH. Domilens is a leading distributor of ophthalmologic products and has been distributing eye medicine and eye surgery products in Germany and Austria for more than 25 years. In addition to state-of-the-art intraocular lenses, the product portfolio also includes medical devices and surgical instruments and accessories.
 
POLYTECH group is a leading service partner in the field of eye surgery and supplies ophthalmologists and hospitals with a comprehensive product range in cataract surgery. In addition to Germany, it is also represented in Austria, Hungary, Poland, and Switzerland.
 
Majority shareholder of POLYTECH group is the Odewald KMU fund, issued with a volume of about EUR 150 million at the end of 2008, which invests in medium-sized, established high-growth companies in German-speaking countries. The Cologne-based M&A team has been advising Odewald KMU regularly in legal questions and had already been lead adviser on the acquisition of POLYTECH group in 2011.
