Dr. Andreas Urban, Managing Partner at Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek, has been awarded the honorary prize handed out by the German Association for Professional Service Firms [DGPSF - Deutsche Gesellschaft für Professional Service Firms e.V.]. The "Management Baton" honors outstanding personalities, who have gained particular prestige and respect in their professional work, both on a national and an international level. The "Baton," created by artist Philipp Heinisch, was awarded at a gala event held at Grandhotel Schloss Bensberg on September 9.
In his laudatory speech, Markus Hartung, Director of Bucerius Center on the Legal Profession at Bucerius Law School in Hamburg, emphasized the law firm’s successful development under Urban’s leadership. Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek has consistently expanded and strives for further growth. Profitability and quality of the law firm have also steadily increased. The partnership has been able to integrate the numerous lateral entrants in recent years very successfully, which considered in itself is already an outstanding management achievement. At the same time, however, Urban has advised outstanding clients as legal counsel. "You cannot highlight the outstanding success of Urban as a lawyer other than with complete respect. Many of the high-profile cases in recent years have been led by him. He is the sought-after advisor for family-owned companies, where conflicts need to be resolved. His simultaneous work as managing partner of a partnership that has successfully expanded under his leadership and as a trusted lawyer in difficult disputes make him the natural award winner of this year's Management Baton," Hartung continued.
Dr. Andreas Urban, born in 1956, has been Partner at Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek since 2000 and Managing Partner since 2009. He advises his clients from the Düsseldorf and Berlin offices and focuses on corporate law. Urban has extensive experience in large transactions and regularly advises a variety of companies and business owners.
The most recent award winner of the "Baton" takes part in selecting the new award winner. Jointly with the DGPSF’s Advisory Board, they select personalities, who have rendered outstanding services in leadership and management. The award has been handed out regularly since 2013. Dr. Bernd Rödl of Rödl & Partner, ETL founder Franz-Josef Wernze, and Dr. Volker Spitz, CEO of Brandstock Group, are past award winners.
