Lawyer, tax advisor and notary Dr. Uwe Hartmann, coming to the firm from FPS, will start working out of Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek’s Frankfurt office effective January 1, 2018. As an Equity Partner, Hartmann will be joined by Stephan Nikschick, LL.M as Salaried Partner and Catrin Merten as Senior Associate.
Uwe Hartmann (51) advises in all fields of national and international tax law. His work focuses on funds structuring under tax, civil and corporate law, corporate restructuring, corporate succession, and M&A transactions. Additionally, he has many years of experience in optimizing estates, succession plans, financing, investment, and corporate structures. He further specializes in advice related to audits, fiscal court and tax proceedings. Hartmann is also a notary, working primarily in corporate, real estate, and inheritance law. Prior to joining FPS, Hartmann had been an Equity Partner at Norton Rose from 2001 to 2012.
Stephan Nikschick will join Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek as a Salaried Partner. He focuses on representing credit institutions and mid-sized and large companies in commercial, corporate, and insolvency law. Nikschick has extensive experience particularly in insolvency law. He advises creditors prior to and during insolvency proceedings, as well as debtors or their management on issues related to restructuring and possible liability issues.
By Dr. Uwe Hartmann and his team joining the law firm, Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek will not only gain outstanding expertise in corporate and tax law in Frankfurt, but will also strengthen its competence in the notary field, which to date has been exclusively served from the Berlin office (currently six notaries).
“We are very pleased about the additions in Frankfurt. The legal fields covered by our new peers are highly complementary to our portfolio. The focus on tax law and the notarial office, in particular, will further strengthen the Frankfurt office,” said Dr. Andreas Urban, Managing Partner at Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek.
