The rail network for the RRX, one of the largest regional rail transport projects of recent years, is now complete. Since Sunday, December 13, 2020, the modern RRX trains have also been operating between Aachen and Dortmund. The volume of the largest infrastructure project is in excess of EUR 4 billion for a total of 84 RRX trains. The Jasper / Marx / Westen team of law firm Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek designed and structured the project and advised the client during the award and implementation phases.
“We are very pleased that this project has become such a success and that we were able to contribute to it! The award and contracting model has become an example for numerous large projects of this kind because it does not focus on the price of the trains, but on quality, energy consumption, and availability,” said Ute Jasper, Head of the Public Sector & Public Procurement Practice Group.
Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek’s Public Sector & Public Procurement department has been one of the best public procurement law practices for years. Its lawyers advise on awards, restructuring, large-scale projects, and cooperation in the public sector. They have accompanied several hundred projects of federal, state, and local authorities with a total volume in excess of EUR 40 billion without any procedure having been successfully challenged to date.
