Permanent archiving of digital data: Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek accompanies award procedure for a "digital magazine" of the Free State of Thuringia

The state authorities of the Free State of Thuringia are creating digital data on a daily basis because of the work with emails and text processing programs, electronic processing of events and specialized databases. If these data are classified as worthy to be archived, they are to be kept available on a permanent basis for an indefinite period. This requires a special IT infrastructure, which is to be implemented as part of a "digital magazine."

The required software will be procured in a contract award procedure, which is carried out by the Thuringia Main State Archive Weimar. Objectives of the invitation to bid are the establishment and operation of a "digital magazine" tailored to the needs of the Thuringia state administration conforming to technical and customary technical standards for the archiving of all types of electronic documents.

Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek accompanies the contract award procedure and advises the Thuringia Main State Archive in particular on drafting the award and contract documents, on responding to bidder inquiries and on reviewing and evaluating the bids.

Counsel to Thuringia Main State Archive Weimar:
Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek, Chemnitz
