Rhineland Pitch 2017: MySchleppApp wins summer finals in Düsseldorf

With some 1,000 people in attendance, the winner of the Rhineland Pitch summer finals was selected in Düsseldorf on Thursday evening: Cologne-based start-up MySchleppApp prevailed with its towing service via app. Dr. Kirsten Thiergart from the law firm of Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek was a member of the eight-person expert jury that was also rating the competitors.

Four teams - MySchleppApp, get in It, Mahlzeit, and Taxbutler - had qualified for the summer finals. Each team had seven minutes to present its pitch, after which it faced critical questions of the audience and the expert jury.

"The MySchleppApp founders presented us with a well-rounded business idea that has a lot of potential," said Thiergart. The app allows drivers to notify the nearest towing service without having to sign up for an expensive annual subscription. MySchleppApp works with a large network of towing service providers, which the startup has built up nationwide in Germany and beyond its borders.
