Book resale price maintenance

The German Act on Resale Price Maintenance for Books has the purpose of protecting books as objects of cultural value. According to the Act, the publishing houses must set binding resale prices for books which are destined for sale in Germany. This applies in particular to German books but non-German books may also be concerned if they are primarily destined for sale in Germany. Electronic recordings of books may also be concerned.

Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek advises domestic and foreign publishing houses, book retailers and other distributors on the design of distribution strategies which are compatible with the Book Resale Price Maintenance Act.
