Every company has business secrets such as customer data, strategic plans, and technical know-how. They are frequently very important for a company’s success and must therefore be protected, including by legal measures. European Directive (EU) 2016/943 leads to Europe-wide harmonization and improvement of legal protection. This, however, applies expressly only to companies that take appropriate safeguards to protect business secrets. We advise our clients in selecting and implementing suitable safeguards. We also represent them in court proceedings in which the revealing, unauthorized procurement or use of business secrets is alleged.
