About 400 Guests From Business and Politics Gather for the New Year's Reception
Last Thursday evening, commercial law firm Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek officially opened its new office building at Georg-Glock-Straße into which it had moved at the end of last fall. About 400 invited guests from business and politics, including Justice Minister Roswitha Müller-Piepenkötter, and about 80 attorneys of the law firm toasted to the New Year.
Justice Minister Müller-Piepenkötter addressed the attendees and expressed her appreciation of the growth of the law firm which had been founded in Düsseldorf by Dr. Hans Günter Heuking and Dr. Wolfgang Kühn in 1971.
"You made your way with vision and courage," the Minister told the founders whose success story she has been following since its inception. The Minister particularly stressed the independence of the German law firm which is internationally active. Müller-Piepenkötter underscored that the law firm had always been beholden to reflect the image of the German attorney. The new offices brought an added appeal to Düsseldorf's cityscape. "I am not free from envy and would like to wish all lawyers lots of happiness in their work in this beautiful building," the Minister added.
The founders and name partners, Dr. Hans Günter Heuking and Dr. Wolfgang Kühn, had previously welcomed the Justice Minister and the guests in the new premises. "It is with pride that we look back at the development of the law firm in the last few years," the founders agreed and jointly provided a brief outline of the law firm's history.
Dr. Andreas Urban, new Managing Partner of the law firm since November, highlighted in his welcome address that the law firm is looking forward to a sound performance due to the wide variety of law fields that it covers. "We are able to quickly react to our clients' requirements and have been able to support them well even in times of crisis," Urban continued. "Tonight also serves to thank all our clients for their great collaboration."
The move into the newly constructed office building "Four Elements" had become necessary since space had become a premium at the prior headquarters at Cecilienallee. Since its establishment in Düsseldorf, the law firm has now grown to include offices in nine cities and more than 200 attorneys. In Düsseldorf, there are more than 70 attorneys working and overall more than 160 employees (administration, back office).
