At its Federal Conference in Frankfurt am Main, the German Soccer Federation (DFB) elected new assessors to the DFB Sports Court on September 27, 2019. One of newly elected assessors is Dr. Marcus Georg Tischler, Salaried Partner at Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek.
DFB Sports Court is the first instance court that is competent for all infringements by soccer teams (or their subsidiaries), players, coaches, officials, and referees against statutory provisions of the DFB and DFL soccer league in connection with federation soccer matches. In addition, the DFB has other competences, such as appeals against official scores or financial disputes associated with federation soccer matches. The Sports Court consists of a chairman, a deputy chairman, and 35 assessors. Hans E. Lorenz is Chairman of the DFB Sports Court.
Dr. Marcus Georg Tischler is a specialist lawyer for insolvency law and for commercial and corporate law. He has been a sports youth judge of Schleswig-Holstein Soccer Association since 2012.
