The "Zollverein" World Heritage Site

The "Zeche Zollverein" in Essen is considered as the “world's most beautiful coal mine” and is a symbol of the rich history of the industrial Ruhrgebiet. It has been classified as an UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Zeche Zollverein also stands as a shining example of how a former heavy industry location can be transformed into a center for design, culture, and recreation. The conversion was enabled by funding that ran into the hundreds of millions of Euros.

Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek supported this project with advice on issues relating to award of contracts and contractual law. Activities focused on the due and correct deployment of funding, but also on the successful and timely implementation of a range of subprojects.
