JUVE Handbook Commercial Law Firms 2020/2021 has just been published. For the ninth time in a row, Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek took first place in public procurement law. As several times in the past, the law firm also took second place in the transportation sector.
Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek’s procurement law practice has been at the top of the JUVE rankings since 2012. Germany’s most important industry analyst for lawyers compliments the collaboration across offices and the increasing cooperation with peers in planning law, which once again underscores “that public procurement law serves as a source for other practice groups.” JUVE views the team’s strength in its extensive experience in structuring invitations to bid and with politically sensitive clients.
In the transportation sector, the team differentiates itself by way of its “experience in legally complex large-scale projects, particularly in public transport and local rail transport.” The three Heuking partners Dr. Ute Jasper, Ulf Christiani, and Dr. Martin Schellenberg are particularly frequently recommended by clients and competitors. Jasper is once again listed as a leading name with clients appreciating, among other things, her “fast, pragmatic solutions with the highest level of professional competence.” Dr. Laurence Westen, who has been appointed Equity Partner, is one of the rising stars in public procurement law up to the age of 40.
Projects of the public procurement practice include the support of Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Transportation and advice on procurement and maintenance of tram trains, the largest rail vehicle project to date. The team advises projects with a total value well in excess of EUR 35 billion.
“Our fast and pragmatic solutions once again convinced clients and competitors of our abilities. We continue to meet the challenges and feel a strong sense of encouragement in our work by the first place in public procurement law and the second place in the transportation sector,” said Ute Jasper, Partner at Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek in Düsseldorf and Head of the Public Sector & Public Procurement Practice Group.
