2019 Banking Event: Participants discuss climate change, credit risks, and calling in loans

The Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek banking event in Berlin has established itself: For 14 years, lawyer Dr. Stefan Proske has been inviting attendees once a year to discuss issues affecting the risk, reorganization, and liquidation areas of banks. At this year’s event on September 26, 2019, all topics revolved around the topics of climate change, credit risks, and calling in loans.

Numerous guests from regional and supra-regional credit institutions attended the event to obtain information from lectures and to exchange ideas at the subsequent get-together. In her lecture, Dr. Kira Vinke from Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research e.V. focused on the economic effects of climate change – such as increased risks in agricultural financing and funding under the Renewable Energy Act. Dr. Daniel Becker, lawyer at Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek, then gave a lecture on “Calling in loans in the event of an increase in risk.”
