Open University in Hagen: Hagen System Relaunch HS.R

The Open University in Hagen is the only public-law open university in the German-language area. Founded in 1975, today it is one of the largest universities in Germany with currently about 83,000 students. It allows a course of study independent of time and location as an equivalent alternative to classroom instruction.

At the end of 2006, the rector’s office of the Open University in Hagen resolved to fundamentally redesign the IT system of the university. With the project, the Open University in Hagen implemented a requirement-oriented, fundamental realignment and modernization of its IT system to support the area of teaching and studies at the Open University.

Since the implementation of the measures decided upon requires both a change in the business processes and the associated change and expansion of today's information technology system at the university, the award of IT services is extremely challenging.
