International sports law conference huge success with support of Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek

Dr. Johan-Michel Menke, Secretary General of the International Sport Lawyers Association and sports law expert at Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek, draws a positive conclusion after the first "ISLA International Sports Law Conference": "The great feedback and the top-class speakers showed that ISLA is on the right way: Jointly with the City of Hamburg and Bucerius Law School, also due to the support by Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek, a conference for the international exchange in sports law will be held regularly in Hamburg in the future." This has also been expressed by the guest of honor of the senate reception on the eve of the conference, Matthieu Reeb, Secretary General of the International Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in Lausanne.

The "ISLA International Sports Law Conference" was held at Bucerius Law School in Hamburg on October 11 and 12, 2013. The event focused on current topics of  sports business, such as financial fair play or sports event law. Zurich-based ISLA, the only global organization of sports lawyers, had appointed Menke, certified specialist lawyer for employment law and expert for sports law at Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek's Hamburg office, as its Secretary General in May 2013.
