Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek Braves the Crisis: Law Firm Moves into New Office Building ’Four Elements’ in Düsseldorf

Law firm Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek, one of the major German partnerships with more than 200 attorneys, tax consultants and notaries, moves into about 75,000 square feet of the six-story office building ’Four Elements’ at its headquarters location in Düsseldorf. The building, noticeable for its modern architecture, is situated not far from the law firm's previous offices. The new office can be found at Georg-Glock-Straße, at the intersection with Kaiserswerther Straße, between downtown and the airport. Commissioning by HOCHTIEF Projektgesellschaft was finalized by the end of this month.

The law firm will move in the next few days. This step allows the partnership to create the space necessary for continued growth, an objective that has been pursued since its inception by Dr. Hans Günter Heuking and  Dr. Wolfgang Kühn in 1971. "Just in the last twelve months, the number of employees at the Düsseldorf office increased from 148 to 163 and the number of attorneys increased to 71“, explains Dr. Wolfgang Kühn, co-founder of the law firm of which he is a name partner. The partnership's administrative office is headquartered in Düsseldorf. Lawyers, back office and administration make Düsseldorf its largest office. In the meantime, the partnership has seven offices in Germany and offices in Brussels and Zurich.

"The capacities of our previous location are no longer consistent with our growth“, explains Dr. Heuking the move. Overall, the law firm keeps growing: At other locations, such as Munich, Berlin and Cologne, the number of lawyers has also increased in the last twelve months, notwithstanding the economic crisis.

The architectural design of the ’Four Elements’ with its projections and panels blends in with the neighboring buildings, some of which are under historical preservation protection. The rooms of the new building offer flexible use of space and are equipped with state-of-the-art technology. "The offices of the ’Four Elements’ provide our lawyers with optimum working conditions. The sixth floor features ultra-modern meeting rooms in which we will be able to provide counsel to our clients and to hold client seminars as well“, says Dr. Kühn.

Tomorrow, the first attorneys will already move to the new offices, accompanied by about 1,500 ft. of bookcases from the library and about 15,000 ft. of files from the offices and archives in closed containers. "No later than on September 25, all employees will be at the new location“, Kühn is pleased to note. At the same time, the 35 employees of Verhülsdonk und Partner, an auditing and tax consulting firm associated with Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek, will also move to the building at Georg-Glock-Straße 4.
