Employment
The Practice Group “Employment” includes more than 40 highly specialized employment lawyers advising in all sectors of labour relations.
We deal with both, contentious and non-contentious work and represent our clients in all German Labour Courts – including the Federal German Labour Court.
As advisors to entrepreneurs and corporations, we deal with all day-to-day HR measures, global policies and complex restructurings and lay-offs.
Within our group, we have formed sub-sections to deal with special employment law aspects, such as company pension schemes, insolvency-related questions and occupational health and safety.
Given the local reach of our group – we are present in all of our 8 German offices – we haven know-how and experience in almost all industry sectors (e.g. automotive, financial services, pharma, IT, logistics, retail etc.).
As a consequence, we are very well aware of local and sector-specific particularities and customs that have an impact on HR work.
Apart from our stand-alone practise in labour and employment law, we often work closely with the other practise groups of the firm. Typical examples of such co-operations would be all kind of transactions, insolvency restructurings, compliance audits and all kinds of employee data protection issues.
HR work, furthermore, often entails the need to involve third-party consultants and experts (HSE medical services, outplacement experts, mediators and many more). We are not only willing to collaborate with our clients’ own experts but have our own network of tried and tested experts.
Last but not least, we offer a vast variety of seminars and forums in order to train our clients’ HR staff and leadership. We believe that it is our duty as trusted advisor to our clients, to help them to keep their internal resources up-do-date and to make their lives easier. In this respect, we offer IT Tools to facilitate the collaboration with our clients and of the clients’ internal resources.
The WSG European Employment & Labor practice group members recently published a new guide about the A1 certificate that provides a Pan-European-overview on each European country’s statutory requirements on the handling of the A1 certificate as well as minimum pay.
