New Salaried Partner for Düsseldorf - Heuking expands its Corporate and PE practice with Slaven Kovacevic

Slaven Kovacevic (44) will join Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek’s Corporate and Transaction practice in Düsseldorf as Salaried Partner effective November 1, 2022. Kovacevic joins the firm from Simmons & Simmons, where he practiced as Counsel at the Düsseldorf office. At Heuking, he will reinforce the Transaction team led by Partner Dr. Martin Imhof and is expected to further establish the law firm’s presence in the PE market. With more than ten years of professional experience, Kovacevic advises financial and strategic investors and businesses on national and cross-border PE/M&A and VC transactions. He is also regularly advising on JVs and intra-group restructuring projects.

Kovacevic has specific experience in the private equity market and possesses broad expertise, particularly in the technology, e-commerce, and financial industry sectors. In his capacity as Counsel for Simmons & Simmons, he recently led several PE transactions, including for Diploma plc. As Co-Lead Counsel, Kovacevic advised Waterland Private Equity Netherlands on the acquisition of AMORELIE from ProSiebenSat.1 and advised Waterland Germany on its investment in the Yieldkit eCommerce platform. He also advised Genmab AS on a Series C investment in CureVac AG. In the past, Kovacevic had also advised Dutch PE fund Avedon Capital Partners on several acquisitions and sales.

“With his focus on mid-cap PE and M&A transactions, Slaven Kovacevic is an excellent fit for our Corporate practice. He will be a great asset to our firm with his experience, particularly in international client relationships,” Dr. Martin Imhof commented on Kovacevic joining the firm.

“I am very pleased to contribute my expertise to one of Germany’s leading business law firms. To me, Heuking offers the perfect platform to comprehensively advise clients at the highest level, particularly in the fields of PE/M&A and VC, but also in all other relevant legal fields. Specifically, Heuking’s proven full service offering will be more than helpful in this endeavor,” said Slaven Kovacevic.

Kovacevic studied law at the University of Hamburg, majoring in Corporate and Commercial Law. Prior to joining Simmons & Simmons in 2019, he had worked for Mayer Brown in Düsseldorf and CMS Hasche Sigle in Stuttgart.

It was only at the beginning of October that Heuking had reinforced its Real Estate team with a female Salaried Partner.
