Wirtschaftswoche Selects Top Criminal Lawyers: Dr. Dieter Bohnert from Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek among the Top 25 Attorneys for Criminal Tax Law

In the context of the debate on tax evasion, the reduction of tax havens and self-reporting, Wirtschaftswoche in a multi-level proceeding selected the best German criminal tax law experts in order to offer potential clients orientation in the selection of legal advice. Based on extensive database research and expert interviews, a top-class jury selected the top 25 attorneys in criminal tax law.

Dr. Dieter Bohnert, Partner and Member of the Management Committee of law firm Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek in Düsseldorf, was awarded the distinction by Wirtschaftswoche. Bohnert comments on the topic as follows: "A number of Germans have large amounts invested in foreign countries which tax investigators will be able to detect more easily in the future. These clients are now looking for solutions." Legal advice by an attorney specializing in tax matters is important in order to avoid larger damage. Bohnert advises: "It needs to be reviewed whether self-reporting is required to make corrections and one cannot wait until facts have been established since then it will get unpleasant and expensive.“

Bohnert has many years of experience as criminal tax lawyer in Germany. After completing his studies, the experienced practitioner has worked in tax investigation and subsequently headed the tax departments of large corporations. In addition, he authored the standard book "Das Verfahren in Steuerstrafsachen". He provides legal advice to numerous large corporations, including some renowned DAX companies.
