"Best of the Best 2009": Awarded to Four Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek Attorneys

Dr. Wolfgang Kühn, Dr. Herbert Palmberger, Michael Schmittmann and Gabrielle H. Williamson were named "Best of the Best 2009" by "Expert Guides" published by Legal Media Group, London. In 4 out of 19 practice areas, the law firm's award recipients thus rank among the 25 most-renowned legal experts worldwide.

The "Expert Guides" have been published since 1994 and annually survey about 4,000 senior practitioners and in-house counsel on excellence in work and renown in the industry.

Dr. Wolfgang Kühn, Partner and one of the attorneys the law firm is named after, was ranked among the top lawyers in Commercial Arbitration. Kühn on the top ranking: "The fact that we are represented in four categories shows that our law firm covers a wide spectrum and has numerous specialists in the various fields of law."

Dr. Herbert Palmberger, who has been working for Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek as Partner since July 2008, was awarded for his work in insurance and reinsurance law. Palmberger: "The law firm fosters the competencies of each individual lawyer as evidenced by the award of the "Expert Guides" which is considered an important sign of recognition in the industry."

As in years prior, Michael Schmittmann, Partner of the law firm in Düsseldorf, and Gabrielle H. Williamson, head of the Brussels office, received the awards. Schmittmann reaffirmed the success of the years past in the field of Media. "I am very happy to have received the award again," says Schmittmann. "I am particularly honored by the fact that the award is given by German and foreign colleagues."

Williamson, who received the award in Environmental Law for Germany and Belgium, comments on the ranking highly pleased as well: "It is a particular honor to have received the award several times."
