Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek advises Ruhr University Bochum on new university clinics

Starting in the 2016/2017 winter term, Ruhr University Bochum's university clinic will train physicians also in East Westphalia-Lippe. Clinics from Minden, Herford, Lübbecke-Rahden, and Bad Oeynhausen prevailed in Ruhr University Bochum's competition procedure.

The expansion to East Westphalia-Lippe is supposed to ensure a sufficient supply of physicians and to stop the lack of doctors available in rural regions. In a transparent and discrimination-free selective procedure, Ruhr University Bochum therefore searched new cooperation partners. Public procurement law experts Dr. Ute Jasper and Dr. Jens Biemann of Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek advised on this most likely unique and innovative competition procedure.

"We are very pleased to see that Ruhr University Bochum is able to expand quickly and legally compliant into rural East Westphalia-Lippe for medical profession training,“ said Dr. Ute Jasper. "The chances for medical students to open their practices in the region after the training are better than ever,“ added her colleague Dr. Jens Biemann.

Johannes Wesling clinic Minden, Herford clinic, Lübbecke-Rahden hospital, and Auguste Victoria clinic in Bad Oeynhausen will assume tasks in education and research for Ruhr University Bochum's university clinic starting with the 2016/2017 winter term.
