Increase in financing for BayWa Bau- und Garten

With a Frankfurt-based team led by Partner Thomas K. Schrell, business law firm Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek advised Landesbank Hesse-Thüringen Girozentrale (Helaba) on increasing the existing financing volume for BayWa Bau- und Garten group.

The increase of the existing loan funds involved the group’s principal and core banks and included public subsidies. The total loan volume was increased by more than EUR 30 million while the loan originally provided under the loan agreement was extended prematurely.

BayWa Bau- & Garten KG comprises 53 DIY and garden centers in southern Germany and an online store. The specialist stores offer a product range of some 60,000 items covering all aspects of building, renovating, and designing residences and gardens, as well as products for recreation and for pet owners. BayWa Bau und Garten employs about 2,000 people.
