Gemeinnützige Umwelthaus GmbH, which is the owner of the environmental and neighborhood house, awarded various contracts for a permanent exhibition in the environmental and neighborhood house, which is set up for a minimum of 15 years.
The environmental and neighborhood house is information center for citizens in airport matters and serves as dialog and monitoring center on the topics of aircraft noise, effects of the airport on the environment and effects of the airport on the social structure. New benchmarks for transparency and information are to be established by setting up the "environmental house" in neutral ownership. The objective is to improve in a dialog the communication and cooperation between the airport, its users and the neighbors by the aforementioned principles in a continuous and lasting manner.
The requirements to the environmental and neighborhood house are in particular met and realized by operating the information center, allowing interested citizens, schools, organizations, and institutions to obtain neutral information about the development of the Frankfurt am Main airport and the Rhine/Main region by means of scientific and educational meetings and exhibits.
The information center of the environmental and neighborhood house combines the various types of monitoring on the development of animate and inanimate nature and of aircraft noise. To the extent necessary, data is reviewed in a professional neutral manner and made accessible to a wide section of the interested public. Gemeinnützige Umwelthaus GmbH will regard, review and present these connections.
