Road Project Lippe – Final binding offers received

The innovative project for the Lippe district roads is nearing its completion with the bidders submitting their final binding offers on February 6, 2009. For this reason, the project schedule can be adhered to: conclusion of the contract expected in April 2009 and start of the project on July 1, 2009.

The innovative project is groundbreaking for road construction in Germany. The district no longer issues individual orders divided into small sections, but in the future a private company will be responsible for the entire road network of the Lippe district and must see to it that each road section complies with the contractually agreed quality standards. Patchwork and road management according to the budgetary situation are thus a thing of the past. In the long run, this will lead to better road management in terms of efficiency and quality.

"Now the offers are evaluated and subsequently the committees must decide," Dr. Ute Jasper, attorney, Partner at Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek, explains the further steps. For legal reasons governing contract awards, she is unable to provide comments on the contents of the offers.

Attorneys Dr. Ute Jasper and Dr. Hans Arnold have already provided the district with legal advice on the implementation of the project ever since the feasibility study in 2005.
