HELLWEG group – Additional loan funds to secure growth strategy

With a Frankfurt-based team led by Partner Thomas K. Schrell, business law firm Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek advised a banking consortium on expanding debt financing for HELLWEG Die Profi-Baumärkte group.

By introducing an additional tranche, the total loan volume has been increased. The existing group of lending banks has remained stable. In connection with the loan expansion, individual contractual provisions of the financing documentation were adapted.

HELLWEG is an owner-managed family business. From its Dortmund headquarters, the group operates a comprehensive DIY and garden center branch concept and online stores, comprising 97 HELLWEG stores in Germany and Austria and 53 DIY and garden centers in southern Germany. The group also includes Gartencenter Augsburg with seven sites in North Rhine-Westphalia. HELLWEG group employs some 4,000 people.
