Heuking advises VR Equitypartner on the acquisition of a stake in plastics specialist Schmidt + Bartl

A team led by Heuking Partners Dr. Rainer Herschlein and Benedikt Raisch legally advised VR Equitypartner GmbH on investing in Schmidt + Bartl GmbH jointly with a co-investor. The transaction is subject to approval by the antitrust authorities. Seller Heribert Rotter will retain a continuing interest in the company and will continue to act as Schmidt + Bartl’s General Manager.

Schmidt + Bartl GmbH is a specialist for engineering plastics and has been producing semi-finished plastic products, plastic piping systems, and elastomers in Villingen-Schwenningen since 1985. Applying its extensive material expertise, S+B advises its customers’ R&D departments during every step of the development process.

VR Equitypartner GmbH is an equity investor that supports medium-sized family businesses in strategically solving complex financing issues. Investment opportunities include growth financing and expansion financing, corporate succession, and changes to shareholder structure. VR Equitypartner’s portfolio currently comprises some 60 commitments with an investment volume of EUR 400 million.
