Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek advises Kroschke group on the acquisition of the business operations of insolvent fish specialist Hagenah

Kroschke group, Ahrensburg, acquired the business operations of insolvent Hamburg-based fish specialist Hagenah with the support of Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek. The acquisition price was not disclosed.

It was thus possible to sell Hagenah's business operations already four months after insolvency application to a successor company, after a major fire had completely destroyed the enterprise at Christmas 2012. 92 jobs were saved by the transferring reorganization of the enterprise.

Hagenah, established in 1892, is Hamburg's largest fish dealer, operates its own beech smoking facility for fish and sells its products both in wholesale and retail operations as well as at Hagenah-Bistro in Hamburg-Bahrenfeld. Its clients include several of Hamburg's best restaurants.

Trading firm A. W. Niemeyer (AWN), founded in Hamburg in 1745 and residing in the immediate vicinity, today Germany's largest maritime supplier, is also part of Kroschke group, which employs more than 1,700 people and has 500 locations in Germany.

Hagenah and AWN intend to create a new maritime meeting place at the same location in Hamburg and thereby use synergies in the future.
