Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek Advises on Award Procedure for Broadband Internet Coverage of Bautzen District

The district of Bautzen is carrying out an award procedure for the comprehensive coverage of the district with broadband-enabled Internet connections.

The objective of the award procedure is to provide reliable and high-capacity broadband connections to a total of 335 under-served cities and municipalities in the Bautzen district. The tender will be designed in a vendor-neutral and technology-neutral manner in order to achieve technologically appropriate solutions for the creation of comprehensive, sustainable broadband infrastructure in the areas identified as underserved.

The Free State of Saxony supports the provision of broadband connections in the context of the funding guideline "Integrated Rural Development - RL ILE/2007" and the joint task "Improving regional economic structures (GA-Infra)" the requirements of which are to be taken into account in the design of the award procedure.

Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek provides comprehensive legal counsel on the award procedure from project planning to implementation and supports the Bautzen district particularly in drafting the award and contract documents, in reviewing and evaluating the tenders and in negotiations, if any, with tenderers.

Lawyers involved: Ulf Christiani (Lead), Ulrike Siegert, both Chemnitz; Dr. Wolfgang G. Renner, LL.M., Munich; Dr. Martin Schellenberg, Hamburg
