Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek continues expansion: China Desk in Hamburg reinforced and tax lawyer joined in Munich

As of October 1, 2015, Sen Gao (35) will be a member of Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek's China Desk in Hamburg. He joins the firm from Schindhelm, where he has been a member of its China Desk in Hamburg since 2014.

The lawyer, born in Peking and raised in Germany, focuses on supporting and advising Chinese enterprises with business activities in Germany and Europe, as well as German enterprises with business activities in China. He will therefore be an excellent supplement to the China Desk, led by Kai Bandilla, Partner in Hamburg.

"Sen Gao has a particular wealth of experience in advising Chinese enterprises not only due to his previous legal work, but his earlier work as independent advisor of Chinese enterprises is also enormously helpful in the operational support of Chinese enterprises in Germany,“ Bandilla was pleased about the welcome reinforcement of the China Desk.

Gao advises primarily in corporate law and M&A, in IP, commercial and real estate law, as well as in general contract law.

Peter M. Schäffler (45) will also join Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek on October 1. He will primarily support corporate law partners Mathias Schröder and Boris Dürr on matters of tax law at the Munich office.

Peter Schäffler will work as a Salaried Partner in the heavily expanding tax law practice. He joins the firm from Luther, where he has been working since 2009.

Schäffler focuses on the fiscal structuring and advice on corporate and real estate acquisitions and on reorganizations. In addition, he advises in corporate and group tax law.

"Due to numerous transactions, the advice in tax law becomes ever more important at the Munich office. We are therefore very pleased to gain professional support in Mr. Schäffler,“ Dr. Mathias Schröder commented the addition to Munich's team.

Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek thus continues its path of expansion: At the beginning of the year, the Stuttgart office was added with 18 lawyers at the time, Ali Sahin and Volker Holl were two lateral hires of Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek in Frankfurt later in the year. Sen Gao will further boost Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek's China Desk. Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek's tax practice had already expanded with Stuttgart peers Dirk Koch and Sebastian Heß at the beginning of the year and is now reinforced again.
