Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek gains financing expert Thomas Schrell for its Frankfurt office

Renowned finance law expert Thomas K. Schrell will join commercial law firm Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek as Equity Partner as of January 1, 2014. Schrell will strengthen the Banking & Finance practice at the Frankfurt office.

Thomas Schrell (50) joins the firm from King & Wood Mallesons - SJ Berwin in Frankfurt, where he has been working as Equity Partner since 2004. He specializes in finance - in particular acquisition financing, corporate loans, real estate, export and project financing as well as other forms of syndicated bank loans. He advises lenders and borrowers in complex structured finance transactions. In addition, he focuses on debt restructuring for lenders and borrowers.

General banking work, including litigation and arbitration for financial institutions, complements Thomas Schrell's areas of expertise. His clients include leading banks, financial institutions as well as other lenders and borrowers. Most recently, Schrell advised Helaba (Landesbank Hessen-Thüringen), BHF BANK Aktiengesellschaft, LBBW (Landesbank Baden-Württemberg), and Fraspa (Frankfurt Sparkasse).

"With his expertise, Mr. Schrell complements the existing finance team at Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek in an outstanding manner," said Dr. Andreas Urban, Managing Partner at Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek.

After the recently added eight-member team of the law firm of Berger & Steck, which has dissolved in the meantime, and the nine-member real estate and finance team led by Dr. Michael Alberts von Orrick that joined at the beginning of the year, Thomas Schrell is the eighth partner, who has joined Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek within the last twelve months. Thus, the law firm's Frankfurt office, which has just relocated to its new premises at One Gotheplaza, continues its considerable growth.
