Merger in the healthcare sector – HEUKING advises on sale of digmed GmbH to LOGEX group

A Hamburg-based HEUKING team led by new Equity Partner Christoph Prochnau, LL.B., legally advised bigmed Beratungs GmbH & Co. KG on the sale of digmed GmbH to LOGEX Healthcare Analytics AG.

Founded in 2008 by anesthetist Dr. Enno Bialas, digmed is a leading provider in the analysis of operating and surgical processes in hospitals in the German-speaking region. After successfully developing the OPTEAMIZER software, the company expanded its offering to include managed services for more than 250 healthcare providers. Offering precise insights, the software allows for reports and benchmarking of performance and capacity to aid the controlling of operating and surgical processes in hospitals.

The company, headquartered in Hamburg, has joined LOGEX group, a European market leader in healthcare analytics, to jointly tackle the increasing challenges faced by the healthcare sector when dealing with a wealth of operational, financial, and earnings data. Together, they aim to demonstrate to medical professionals, managers, and other top-level healthcare executives the precise areas at which strategic actions must be taken to maximize patient outcomes and to minimize expenses.

LOGEX and digmed intend to offer an even more comprehensive solution to some 1,000 healthcare providers and facilities throughout Europe. Integrating digmed into the LOGEX product line will allow hospitals’ surgical data to be enhanced with financial information for improved strategic capacity planning and budgeting. This will also assist those clients in their endeavors to raise overall performance and productivity levels in operating theaters.
