WirtschaftsWoche: HEUKING consistently ranked among Top Firms in Restructuring – Prof. Dr. Streit honored

WirtschaftsWoche, in its current edition, has recognized HEUKING as one of the top law firms in the field of restructuring. Munich-based partner Prof. Dr. Georg Streit has once again been recommended as a top attorney in this practice area.

Through a survey of more than 1,700 legal professionals across 190 law firms, the Handelsblatt Research Institute (HRI) compiled a list of the most distinguished attorneys in several fields, including restructuring. The final list, which was reviewed by an expert jury and has now been published in WirtschaftsWoche, encompasses 33 law firms and 50 recommended attorneys in the restructuring space.

Prof. Dr. Streit, who has served since 2003 as a lecturer in insolvency law and corporate reorganization at the University of Mannheim, and who provides commentary on the law governing the Insolvenzplan (insolvency plan, i.e., a court-approved reorganization plan under German insolvency proceedings) as well as the provisions setting forth requirements for restructuring plans under the StaRUG (Stabilisierungs- und Restrukturierungsrahmengesetz, Germany's Framework for Stabilization and Restructuring, a preventive restructuring framework broadly analogous to Chapter 11 proceedings in the United States) in the Uhlenbruck commentary on the Insolvenzordnung (German Insolvency Code, the principal federal statute governing insolvency proceedings in Germany), has led the Restructuring Practice Group at HEUKING since 2007. The group comprises attorneys and tax advisors with specialized experience and qualifications in insolvency law as well as in corporate reorganization and restructuring. The team provides comprehensive advisory and litigation services across the full range of legal issues arising in connection with financial distress, reorganization, and insolvency.
