Qualifications/Current topics

Alexander Schott is a Salaried Partner at HEUKING, where he advises entrepreneurs, shareholders, and investors on M&A transactions in the small- and mid-cap segment, representing both buyers and sellers.

A particular focus of his practice is on transactions in the succession context: he advises shareholders and entrepreneurial families on the transfer of company shares to successors, investors, or co-shareholders, structures succession arrangements, and supports the entry of investors in the context of generational change. In doing so, he guides his clients from the initial structuring of a transaction through to signing and closing. In addition, he advises on corporate law matters that arise throughout a company’s entire life cycle – from shareholder structure to shareholders’ agreements and governance issues for growing companies.

For Alexander Schott, M&A in the small- and mid-cap segment is more than a legal process. A company sale or a succession often concerns a life’s work and far-reaching entrepreneurial decisions – accordingly, he places great importance on advice that takes economic considerations as seriously as the legal structure. His clients value his personal and pragmatic approach, as well as his commitment to seeing processes through to a consistent conclusion.

Alexander Schott is regularly recommended by Best Lawyers, Handelsblatt, and Legal500 in the Corporate practice area.
