HEUKING advises Cologne-based EnergyTech start-up CHARGEUNITY on its seed financing round
A venture capital (VC) team led by Düsseldorf-based HEUKING partner Dr. Patrick Müller, LL.M. has provided comprehensive legal advice to Cologne-based EnergyTech start-up CHARGEUNITY GmbH on its seed financing round.
Founded in March 2023 by Niklas Seitenspinner and Carl Müller, CHARGEUNITY develops products and services for the installation and operation of public charging infrastructure for electric vehicles. The company’s distinctive model enables private individuals and small businesses to invest in publicly accessible charging stations, generating revenue through electricity sales while expanding the public charging network. The seed capital will support the company’s further growth and the continued rollout of its charging infrastructure platform across Germany.
The financing round was backed by a consortium of five investors, including JGH Holding GmbH, Ellwanger Vermögensverwaltungsgesellschaft mbH, ruhrX GmbH, Familienstiftung Ulrich Zimmermann, and Jan-Niklas Ellerich. The investors subscribed to newly issued Seed preferred shares in the company.
The HEUKING team of Dr. Patrick Müller, LL.M., Ilona Schütz, and Laura Jochem, LL.M., regularly advises start-ups, scale-ups, and investors in the venture capital sector across all growth stages, particularly on financing rounds, convertible loans, employee participation programs, and exits.
