HEUKING advises metr on its EUR 10.5 million Series B financing round
Ariane Neubauer, Equity Partner at HEUKING's Berlin office, and Dr Henrik Lay, Equity Partner at HEUKING's Hamburg office, provided comprehensive advice to metr Building Management Systems GmbH on its Series B financing round of approximately EUR 10.5 million.
With SBG - Sächsische Beteiligungsgesellschaft mbH, the PropTech company metr has gained a new investor. In addition, Kachel GmbH (a subsidiary of WIKA Alexander Wiegand SE & Co. KG), IBB Capital GmbH, BRAWO Capital GmbH, Next Big Thing AG and existing business angels also participated again in the financing round.
metr increased its revenue in the 2025 financial year by more than 80 percent compared to the previous year, achieved a net retention rate of over 140 percent, and now serves more than 80 customers in residential real estate, asset management and corporate real estate sectors.
Alongside the strong financial metrics, the investment decision was driven in particular by the company's proven product-market fit, established technology and the growth potential of the addressed market. metr is using the capital to further develop its technology, expand its operational infrastructure and continue scaling its platform – including through the establishment of a hub in Saxony and preparations for international expansion.
The Series B financing thus marks an important milestone for metr: it provides the financial foundation to further strengthen the company's market position and embark on its next stage of growth. The company's long-term goal is to become the leading European platform for energy-efficient existing buildings.

The platform combines energy management and heating optimisation in a single integrated solution, enabling significant energy savings without the need for costly renovation works. Through its universal connectivity to existing heating systems, owners and portfolio holders can improve the energy efficiency of their buildings, reduce operating costs and safeguard property values over the long term.
