Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek advises CoBe Capital on the sale of the European Printing Systems Group to Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG

Dr. Jörg aus der Fünten, partner at the Cologne office of commercial law firm Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek, advised investment firm CoBe Capital on the sale of the European Printing Systems Group (PSG) to Heidelberger Druckmaschinen Aktiengesellschaft (Heidelberg). Dr. Mark P. Scheunemann, partner at the Düsseldorf office, advised on tax law. The transaction is pending approval by the antitrust authorities.
 
Investment firm CoBe Capital was founded in New York City in 1994 and has subsidiaries in Paris, Madrid, and Cologne. The firm specializes in the acquisition and operation of non-core and underperforming business units in the Americas and Europe from leading global corporations.
 
PSG, headquartered in Amsterdam, employs 400 people in Belgium, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, and in southern Europe. The group offers print services and software solutions. PSG group has been an official business partner of Heidelberg since 1927.
 
Heidelberg is a provider for the global printing industry. The stock corporation has some 12,500 employees worldwide. With the acquisition, Heidelberg continues to advance its service materials and consumables business. Consolidated into the group, the acquisition of PSG group will result in increased sales of some 130 million euros for Heidelberg. In the past, Heidelberg had already gained already broader market access through acquisitions of dealer organizations and manufacturers of consumables.
