Societas Europaea concisely explained in a Heuking video

The Societas Europaea (SE) is a modern legal form for internationally operating companies. Why is it worth changing a company’s legal form into an SE and for which companies does this process make sense? The Corporate/M&A Practice Group answers these and other questions in its new explanatory video.

Mr. Wagner, the fictitious Head of Legal, gets an order from management to examine the legal form of the SE for the company. He approaches the experts at Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek, who explain the most important matters. The SE would make sense for companies that are represented in several European countries, for example. The legal form offers advantages such as flexible options on employee co-determination and easier relocation of the company’s headquarters to another European country. Changing the legal form to an SE should be well thought out, however, as it is a complex process.

The members of Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek’s Corporate/M&A practice group have been advising medium-sized and large companies for many years. The practice group’s advice ranges from corporate housekeeping to legal and tax support for complex transactions in Germany and abroad.
